Storing Fresh Parsley

Posted by admin on Apr 23, 2012

Parsley! The name brings to mind a fresh aroma that you can almost smell! It adds punch to the blandest food and going without it is unthinkable. So, store it to host those lovely dinners and become the queen of master chefs.

Everyone has their own way to preserve this aromatic herb. Given below are a few of the popular ways that ensure that it stays fresh for a long time and you can get the most out of it.

1. Keep It Moisturized – Cut out the stalks of the plant and spray some water on them. Put them in a zip pouch and store inside your refrigerator to keep it moist.

2. Keep It In The Chill Tray – The moisture keeps the herb fresh longer and it tastes better too. Try keeping the zip pouch in your chill tray so that it stays extra moist.

3. Wrap It In A Tissue Paper – If you can’t find a zip pouch, then find some tissue paper and wrap the parsley in it. Spray water on the tissues and place them in your chill tray. Check the moisture once periodically.

4. Cut The Stem – If you find the parsley has started to wither, then you must cut off a little portion of its stem and place the herb in cold water. Keep the glass inside the refrigerator. This helps maintain the flavor in the herb.

5. Check The Moisture – When storing in a zip pouch or tissue paper always remember to keep the moisture in check. Re spray water in the zip pouch and change the tissue papers from time to time to ensure the herbs’ longevity.

6. Change Water – If you have stored it in a water glass, then make sure that you change the water when is starts to discolor.

These steps are used to keep herbs fresh and can be used for a variety of different herbs such as cilantro, basil and others. The herbs stay fresher and retain the flavor for weeks, resulting in better tasting food. Next time, you think of getting any hgh products, stop and think of a herb that can replace your need to stay young and energetic. You’ll surely not be disappointed.
